Breeder Surrendered Dachshunds

In May, NMDR took in 12 dachshunds after the passing of their breeder from a tragic illness. The breeders family reached out to us for assistance in placing their mother’s beloved dogs in foster and forever homes. Listed here are just a few of the dachshunds currently in foster and available for adoption. Our deepest gratitude goes out to this family for entrusting the placement and care of these dogs to NMDR. Condolences from us to your family in this time of grief.

BRODIE… 2 year old male, 14 lbs, B/T with some dapple, one white foot and chest. Neutered, dental done (lost some teeth), micro-chipped, vax current—he’s ready to go. Very sweet, good with other dogs, travels well, sleeps quietly beside his human at night. Housebroken with some supervision, i.e., taking him out first thing in the morning and several times during the day. Comes when called and knows his name.first thing in the morning and several times during the day.  Comes when called and knows his name.

KINQUE… 6 month old female, ~12 lbs., beautiful classic B&T girl, two white toes on left hind foot. Waiting for spaying (5-29), good teeth, micro-chipped, vax current—she’s ready to go in a week or so. Very sweet, good with other dogs, travels well, sleeps quietly beside her human at night. Housebroken with some supervision, i.e., taking her out first thing in the morning and several times during the day. Comes when called by puppy, does not know her name. End of her tail apparently closed in a door at some point, so it has a kink in it (hence her foster name).

DASH… 2-year-old black and white piebald male, neutered, micro-chipped, vax current, dental coming 5-29, ready to go after that. Lovable, but independent, tough little dog. Very sweet, good with other dogs, travels well, sleeps quietly beside his human at night. Housebroken with some supervision, i.e., taking him out first thing in the morning and several times during the day. He does have tendency to mark, but having been recently neutered, that should be alleviated soon. Comes when called. Knows his name.
